Amsterdam Rock Bars

Amsterdam, the capitol of the Netherlands, is known for its canals, historical architecture, liberal lifestyle and eclectic nightlife. No matter people's music tastes, there are venues offering live music and DJs spinning tunes of all genres. Night owls will especially enjoy the city's ordinance, which allows clubs to remain open to 4 a.m.

Located near Vondel Park, Caffe Oslo is a local pub that serves up food and music in a retro style venue. Djs spin records, more a heavy emphasis on the eighties rock than anything else. There are sofas, chairs, bar and dinner seating. A casual atmosphere is obvious from its dark brown curtains and mounted deer antlers on the wall.

Those who are into heavy metal/rock will find that the Excalibur Café is the place to go. Designed like a dark medieval cave-- with suits of armor displayed throughout, pigs heads, swords and shields mounted upon the walls and motorcycles displayed-- it's a biker's and metal-head's haven. The club has two pool tables and a large video screen.
