“There’s tremendous liner notes inside the cover of Jesse Anderson’s Funk N Blues Archive Edition. But to this day, there are some revealing things about Jesse that a lot people don’t know. For instance, Jesse had the first band in Wichita, KS that was an official “blues” band called the Blues Toppers in the late 50’s. Not saying that Jesse’s was the only band for there were such bands as the Jive Tones and Smart Brothers, but Jesse named his band The Blues Toppers.

Jesse gave many artists their stage names such as “Miss Blues” Hicks, “King Dunn”, and the female dancer “Princess Zelda”.

Also a well known Chicago dancer who was looking for a stage name - “Queen Bee”.”
