The Paetec Jazz Festival

The Paetec Jazz Festival took place in Baltimore, Maryland in August of 2007. The festival featured live jazz, R&B, funk, blues and gospel music from local and national acts. The performances took place at several venues around Baltimore, including Harbor Point and the Bonds Street Wharf Landing.

The three-day Paetec Jazz Festival featured more than 30 acts. Headliners included B.B. King, Little Richard, Al Green and Earth, Wind and Fire. Tickets ranged from $50 to $140, though several free shows featuring local acts were also on the schedule. The event drew more than 25,000 attendees.

In 2008, organizers turned the Baltimore festival into a three-city touring festival. The tour stops were Baltimore, Chicago and Tampa, Florida; each stop was a one-day festival that featured artists like Al Green, Anita Baker, Boz Skaggs and Dickey Betts. As of August, 2010, the festival has not taken place since this 2008 tour.

The Paetec Jazz Festival was sponsored by Paetec, a publicly traded firm that offers business communications services. Investment banking firm Merrill Lynch was the other sponsor.
